How to be a profitable Mompreneur by sharing your passion!

Easy Start-Up Business Ideas for Mompreneurs - MaryPirela.comAre you itching to become an entrepreneur or namely a “Mompreneur”? If you have an idea of what you want, you can start your business today. If you don’t have an idea, don’t worry. I would love to help you out with that.

Being a mom is not easy. You are busy all the time. Between your family and your home there is almost no time for anything else. But, you have been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. And one of the prime reasons is your family.

In this time of recession and loss of jobs, it seems funny to start up new businesses. But all enterprises have not been affected by the recession. Many internet businesses are still doing well. They have the advantage of putting you in touch with potential clients from around the world who may not be in financial trouble right now. And, if you have a great niche product or service, people will continue to buy anyway.

Today, it is estimated that there are more than 8.3 million women-owned businesses in the United States. These women owned businesses are responsible for employing upwards of 7.7 million people and generating nearly $1.3 trillion in revenue, according to the State of Women-Owned Business Report.

So, if you are a mom and you want to make extra money starting your own business, here are a few ideas that may be helpful to you. One thing to consider is your area of interest and passion. These will drive the idea for your new small business.

  • Set up an online store: This can be done on eBay or another marketplace. You can sell items that you have around your home. If you are a crafter and create dolls, clothing or other items, sell them in your online store. Here, you can set a price for items instead of using the auction and having people bid. EBay also provides many tools (both free and paid) for sellers to utilize to grow their store
  • Take surveys: Survey takers are needed to do market research for many companies. You can make good money signing on with businesses to get paid for sampling products.
  • Home-based service business: Do you do alterations, fix computers, or watch kids in your spare time? You can take your expertise and turn it into a business that you can run out of your home. This will require a home office or other set-up for you to entertain clients and also to perform the day-to-day operations of your business.
  • Online business: If you can offer a service that will be of benefit to people in all areas of the world, an online website business may be for you. For example, let’s say that you are a writer. You can offer your expertise as a freelance writer to clients needing content for websites, writers needing editors for their books, and other content needs to help grow their businesses. With a website, anyone anywhere can find you.
  • Direct sales are one of the most enduring business models out there: If you have extra time and want to be your own boss, consider a direct sales business. Have you ever heard of Tupperware, Pampered Chef or Avon? These are direct sales businesses. There is a parent company that offers a variety of products. These products are, in turn, sold through individuals who are called consultants, sales associates, distributors or representatives. For a share of the profit of the sales they make, the company offers rewards, incentives and advancement opportunities.
There are a variety of online and offline service businesses that can be started by you, the Mompreneur. Start with your passion and go from there. In my case, I feel passionate about health and wellness, healthy eating, exercise. I also love to connect with people and motivate them or encourage them to live life to the fullest. I’ve always loved the idea of being my own boss, of being able to spend quality time with my kids. I also love to travel. That is why I chose a Direct Sale company that offers safe and natural supplementation to help with energy, weight loss and overall health. This business has given me the opportunity to help others not only to lose weight but to improve their overall health while at the same time generate an additional income that definitely has been a blessing to us.

If you would like to know more about my company and my products, please comment below. I would love to send you more information about the business opportunity and how you can start achieving your health and financial goals. Also, please share and comment what you are passionate about and what your idea is of being a Mompreneur.to help you find the right home-based business fit for you!
Many Blessings,

4 Ways To Generate Leads for Your Business With LinkedIn

Written by Mary Pirela on . Posted in Blog

marypirela.com - 4 ways to generate leads for your business with LinkedIn
LinkedIn is social networking site primarily for professionals and business people. LinkedIn is a membership-based site (it’s free to join) that has a reputation of being a site to network with other professionals for career development and job searches.

You probably have been ignoring LinkedIn and probably for a long time.  I don’t blame you. LinkedIn has kinda been a little fish (up ’til more recently). But LinkedIn is up to 200 million users, and it can no longer be ignored.

Here are some interesting stats about LinkedIn that will help you have a better idea on why Home Business Owners should use LinkedIn to generate leads, develop relationships, sales and partnerships:

– It has 200 million members in 200 countries! (Source: Mashable)
– There are over 74 million members in the US (Source: Punchmedia)
49% of LinkedIn users have household income over $100k (Source: SocialTimes)
3 out of 4 users wants to be approached for other job opportunities (Source: GlobalRecruitingRoundTable)
It is growing by two members per second or 10-15 million members per quarter. (Source: TechCrunch)
55% of LinkedIn members are female. (Source: Creotivo)
61% use LinkedIn as their primary professional network (22% – Facebook; 4% – Twitter). (Source: SocialTimes)
39% pay for a premium LinkedIn account (Business, Business Plus and Executive). (Source: SocialTimes)

According to a new survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal and Vistage International, small business owners use LinkedIn more than any other social media platform. Of the 835 business owners surveyed, 30 percent use LinkedIn regularly—making it the most frequented platform—and 41 percent nominated it as the most valuable agent for growth.

Many people are finding that they’re getting a higher ROI (Return On Investment) for their time on the network. Here’s another fun fact: the number of businesses using Facebook and Youtube actually declined last year … while use of LinkedIn increased.

But here’s the real kicker:

200 million users on LinkedIn and they are ALL specifically there for business.

This means less spam, less clutter, higher conversion  rates and higher quality prospects and leaders to network with.

So Here are 4 examples on how you can use LinkedIn for your business:

1) Add your company:
You can create or add your company page to promote your company URL – http://www.linkedin.com/company/yourcompanyname. Company pages don’t have as many features as LinkedIn personal pages — the four sections, or tabs, are “Overview,” “Employees,” “Product Pages” and “Statistics” — but they’re great ways to push out updates about your business and link to content of interest to your customers and prospects.

2) Blog promotion:
Even though LinkedIn is used for career networking it doesn’t mean you can’t use it to promote your blog posts too. Make sure you spend time connecting with people, answer their questions, build relationships. Be sure to include in your LinkedIn profile your blog’s URL. As people read about you and learn who you are through your connections and profile, chances are they’ll click on your blog link to learn more about you and see what you have to say and offer.

3) Join and participate in LinkedIn groups:
LinkedIn allows you to join up to 50 groups — where you can network, join conversations, and show prospects that you have the answers to their problems. Another way to take advantage of LinkedIn groups is to create your own group. Groups offer a great way to participate in communities with people who have similar interests to you, who might want your products and services, and who could recommend your company to others in their networks.

4) Status update:
As an entrepreneur you have to make it part of your job to go out and find your customers. In order for you to do that, you need to update your status daily, start a discussion about a topic that has to do with your niche market and make sure you answer questions and bring solutions to their problems.

What’s Your Why and Why Should Anyone Care?

Written by Mary Pirela on . Posted in Blog

What's Your Why

Here’s my Why and Why I believe you should care:

Simon Sinek says:

“Every single person, every single organization on the planet knows what they do, 100 percent. Some know how they do it, whether you call it your differentiated value proposition or your proprietary process or your USP (Unique Selling Propositon). But very, very few people or organizations know why they do what they do. And by “why” I don’t mean “to make a profit.” That’s a result. It’s always a result. By “why,” I mean: What’s your purpose? What’s your cause? What’s your belief? Why does your organization exist? Why do you get out of bed in the morning? And why should anyone care?

I’m driven by a purpose, by a cause, by a belief. What do I believe? you might ask. I believe that everyone has the right to be healthy. I believe people should be informed and educated about living a more prosperous life by improving their health and life style. I believe that children should enjoy having a healthy life and parents should be able to provide them with that. It’s not only about financial support but it’s an obligation of ours to introduce and teach our children how to live and promote a healthy life style.  I believe that a great majority of illnesses can be totally eradicated by just changing our eating habits. I believe in empowering women to create wealth for their family by joining the health and wellness movement to fight for their family well being against obesity, diabetes, heart disease, overweight, financial struggles, relationships, etc.

I believe that I’m not only promoting a product that will help you lose wight. It’s more than that. I believe in helping you change your life for the better, improve relationships, have control of your time and achieve your financial goals.

When I hear stories about:

  • People that suffer from fibromyalgia being able to live a better life.
  • Children with special needs improving their quality of lives.
  • People’s diseases being eradicated because they adopted a healthier life style or simple getting off of medications that they have been on for years.
  • People’s relationships changing for the better because they are able to enjoy what life offers and many more,

It reaffirms my sense of purpose, my passion, my belief that what I’m doing is not selling another weight loss product but I’m offering a better life for everyone who believes in what I believe. And this is what gets me up every morning, it’s my purpose, my cause, my belief!

So, What gets you up every morning? What’s your belief? Why should anyone care? And if you want to learn more about how you can become part of this movement and re-affirm or find Your Why don’t hesitate to sign up on this website so you can change your health and financial goals and help others do the same.

Blessings to you,

Mary Pirela

Professional Stay Homes – How Do We Get Out of Our Comfort Zone?

Written by Mary Pirela on . Posted in Blog

comfort-zoneHow do you identify that it’s time to get out of your comfort zone?

I have been Zumba® instructor for about 11 years and through all those years I started feeling that I needed to add something else to my career, something that will continue to add value to others peoples’ lives. I’ve always been passionate about helping others, teaching, coaching or mentoring so it definitely has to be something related to those elements. I wanted to also look into generating an additional income for my family. So I decided to educate myself more about nutrition and supplementation. After a couple of months and not by coincidence a Facebook friend showed me the way!!!

For the last couple of years I’ve managed my business without having an online presence and hadn’t thought about it at all about creating a BRAND for myself much less about blogging. However, I’ve realized now that if I want to take my business to the next level I have to have a website and/or a blog to communicate with my audience and be able to reach more people that are in need of my services. I’m passionate about delivering the message of health and wellness to women.  But it’s not just a simple message. You can google “Health and Wellness for Women” and as of today you’ll find over 100 million results. This is a huge topic of interest for a lot of women and more specifically for Professional Stay Home Moms because a lot of these moms are looking for ways to improve their families’ well being. But not only that, it’s more about creating a movement that will fit into our busy lives that will make a great impact in so many ways.

Even though I work with lots of people most of the time, I really have to force myself to reach out to them when sharing about my business and the opportunity behind it. So sometimes I found myself staying where I feel comfortable which has created a lot of frustration, guilt and that feeling of missing opportunities…Oh what if!!! Comfort is easy!

One of my 2013 goals is to overcome fears, to be brave enough to leave my comfort zone with the idea to get different results by doing things differently.
So this time, I decided to apply for a B-School scholarship, Marie Forleo’s Business School for Women Entrepreneur (if you do not know Marie Forleo, visit www.marieforleo.com). To enter the contest, I have to create a video talking a little bit about me, my business and how it makes an impact. Then post the video on YouTube for everybody to watch! OMG! My stomach shrank when I read the rules. Why? Because I’m not comfortable in front of the cameras, much less if I have to do it in English. And after several days, creating thousands of excuses in my mind and with the encouragement and support of my loving husband, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and move into that space where the impossible becomes possible.

If you are reading this blog post before February 25th and we know each other or just want to help me or encourage others to follow their dreams please go to the video link below, watch my video “Like” it and leave a positive comment. The winner will be based on Audience Choice. Marie Forleo’s team will track the video with more comments and positive feedback, in other words I need you to vote for my video and support me in this adventure and help me by spreading the word, sharing it with your family and friends! If you think you can benefit or have benefited from meeting me, from this website, from my health coaching or anything else please go to the link below, watch my short video, “like” it and “comment” on it.  I’ll be eternally grateful!
